So I haven't kept up nearly as well as I had planned...go figure. I always think I'm going to blog and it will be a great way to keep track of our memories and then I never seem to find time to do it. When I sit down with the computer I have a little monkey who wants to come over and press all the buttons. Speaking of monkeys, we have selected Seth's birthday party theme. I thought this Mod Monkey was cute.

My friend Cyndi is designing the invitation, she does fabulous work!

In other news, H1N1 has circled through our house this week. We got back from Disneyworld on Saturday and I was sick but I thought it was just a cold. By about Tuesday Josh convinced me to go to the doctor and sure enough, I got a positive diagnosis. Haley has been sick so off to the doctor she went, but her test was negative for some reason. I think the doctor didn't let it culture long enough. She has all the same symptoms and she got it just a few days after I did and I have a confirmed case so it has to be! Poor girl, the first day she layed on the couch with a fever. At one point it was up to 106. :( Luckily Seth and Josh have been okay. Seth is a little snotty today but I hope it's nothing. Ha!

Thursday, August 13

Today was a ridiculous day for many reasons so I'm glad I have finally sort of set this up to have a place to come and blow off steam. I am stressed out after an insane conversation on the phone with my mom (as they all seem to be) yet I don't know why I continue this. She is apparently the expert on all areas of my life with special focus on the parts that I am doing wrong. Is it possible to divorce your parents? I'm not sure when she will realize that at 30 I'm a big girl now and I can handle my own life.

In other news, today was Haley's last day of preschool camp at Miss Tammy's house, which has been fabulous. The theme this week was Wacky Water so she has worn her suit each day in anticipation of the fun to come. So today Miss Tammy (who is married and actually a Mrs. instead of a Miss, but she calls herself "Miss") called me at 12:15 to tell me that Haley had broken out in a rash. She described it on the phone and it sounded okay for 45 more minutes until I was to pick Haley up at 1. So I finished feeding Seth his lunch and off we went. I called the pediatrician along the way and they suggested I bring her in so they could take a look at it just in case and that sounded good to me. When I got to Tammy's she looked a lot worse than I anticipated and I admit I panicked a bit. I called Josh on his cell phone about 513413241324 times and got no answer so I got gas in the car instead. Went home and tried Josh again because I was nervous about taking Seth to the doctor with me since the appointment was scheduled for 2:30 and his nap is normally at 2. Also Haley was slurring her words and I didn't know if waiting an hour to go was okay or not, plus I was afraid to give her Benadryl in case the dr needed to see the rash in all its glory.

Josh finally called and said he was on his way, that he was going to come home to help out with this so that was good. I put Seth down for his nap and Haley and I waited by the door so we could make a quick exit when Josh arrived. Off we went to the doctor and I found out that we'd be seeing Dr. B, who is an intelligent and capable doctor I'm sure, but quite frankly, a bit of a nut too. He could stand to take a toothbrush to his mouth in the mornings and his jokes aren't all that funny but that stuff didn't matter at the time. And yeah, the name has been annotated to protect the innocent. So he came in and said, "I don't really know what is causing this" and then he walked out. I think my mouth might have been hanging open when he turned around and came back and said, "Just kidding!" So yeah, that's Dr. B. Not all that hilarious but whatever. He seems to think that Haley is allergic to sunscreen, which she has worn all summer and all last year and the year before. But he says she could have developed a sensitivity to it. Her shoulders and chest look different though so he thinks that is some sort of viral exodus so we are to immediately return if she spikes a fever or is uncomfortable tomorrow.

All seems to be well though, and after two kids' Benadryl chews she is asleep. The little one is out too, though I'm sure this is not the last we have heard from him tonight.
